All good stories contain characters that give color. All year I worked a lot surrounded by family, friends and volunteers. There wasn’t much time for pictures nor for writing articles. But now it’s winter and not much to do so I will start 2022 with the last and most beautiful experience of last year.
Sometime in november a french girl wrote to me answering an add on Helpx, a volunteering platform. I was searching for someone to speak French with and she was the perfect match since she was interested in living outside of city limits and did not want to go to France for the holidays.
She arrived before Christmas with a Romanian friend from Sibiu, and after a few days we were joined by a French girl friend with here.
The task was simple: to speak as much french as possible since once upon a time i was speaking fluently French. But that was before the girls were born so I thought it would be a hard task since I have not spoked French for the last 20 years. I was impressed by how a brain stores a language since after a few days with some difficulty and some help from the girls we were speaking in French.
We visited Târgu Mureș and Sighișoara, we visited neighbors and received visits, we took walks in the forest and on the hills, we delivered six puppies that Șira gave birth to, we cooked traditional Romanian food i relearned a lot of French echipe speaking about theater, love, family relations, life choices and who knows what else.
Some people for Chiristmas eat and drink a lot, by expensive gifts and forget what it is all about: friend, family, love, compassion and gratitude.
2022 will be a great volunteering year and for this reason I wrote detailed adds on HelpX and Workaway.
