Ileana Mavrodin chose to return to her own country after she lived the dream in Ottawa Canada for 12 years.

Sometimes You are unhappy and that is ok. Sometimes what you want and what you get are not the same, so you have two choices. Either you accept and go on, or you fight to change it. Regarding your personal life that is hard because is not that easy to change or to give up a friend, a marriage, a job, a city. But when you are speaking about a society that looks almost impossible. You can’t fight a society’s norms to change it, but is not easy just to give up expectation, especially when they are just common sense.

But, maybe, you don’t have to run away from a country to get what you want. Maybe the answer you will not find it anywhere, in any country, maybe you have to build your own country. Ileana and many other like her discovered long before me that happiness is not a place is inside you so they created their own country far away from civilization where they lived happily ever after even if their country is made out of mud and has only 18 sqm and a living roof.

Like Ileana I join the community of people that chose to stay by leaving. They stay in a country inside a country. They stop fighting the system and bring change by changing the people inside the system. They inspire and they lead by example. I hope to do the same.
